Parker Hill Community Listening Session

  • Parker Hill Branch of the Boston Public Library 1497 Tremont Street Boston, MA, 02120 United States (map)

Join us at a Boston Public Library branch near you by dropping by during our pop-up hours and chatting with us about community-centered public art! Now + There is hosting community listening sessions centered on a deeper understanding of how our arts programming can provide sufficient and sustainable engagement to the community and amplify the power of public art to new audiences.

We are currently planning for the Boston Public Art Triennial, a city wide public art festival in 2025 which will feature artists from the Boston area as well as national and international artists to develop 15 large-scale works throughout the city. This includes your neighborhood!

In preparation for the Boston Public Art Triennial, we are hosting a series of Listening Sessions in the communities where the 15 artworks will be. Through extensive listening and learning in community, these sessions will inform and guide how Now + There responds to community feedback through its Triennial programming.

The goal of these sessions is to build upon Now + There’s extensive public engagement efforts through a deeper understanding of how our Triennial programming can provide sufficient and sustainable engagement to the community and amplify the power of public art to new audiences. Beyond listening and learning, we will develop relationships with the neighbors and communities of the 15 Triennial sites.

We welcome everyone to attend and provide feedback that will help us shape public art programming that fosters connection and open minds in your neighborhood. No familiarity with the arts is required!

We hope you’ll join us for one of the upcoming Community Listening Sessions; more dates on upcoming sessions can be found on our website calendar at www.nowandthere.org.
