We are delighted to welcome you on Wednesday, June 7, from 5:00-7:00 PM for the Opening Celebration of Lot Lab, a new destination for art + community in Boston, steps from the Charlestown Navy Yard. Free and open to the public, Lot Lab will activate the site with projects, performances, workshops, and family programs.
Join us on the opening as we celebrate the transformation of a once underutilized lot into a new “laboratory” for public art with music, ice cream, spoken word performance, and remarks from the collaborators + artists who are bringing bold public art to Boston including National Parks Service, Boston Harbor Now, Charlestown Boys & Girls Club, Turn it Around, and more!
See two large-scale installations: a living artwork by international artist Ghada Amer and a new ground mural by Boston-area Massiel Grullon, while local artist Samantha Fields demonstrates the process of splicing nautical rope in preparation for her massive wall project opening in late July.
WHEN: Wednesday June 7, 5-7 PM; speaking program at 5:30
WHERE: 115 Constitution Road, Charlestown, MA 02129. Along the Freedom Trail and Boston Harborwalk. The closest MBTA T stops are North Station (Green line), and Community College (Orange line). You can also arrive by water ferry to Pier 4 (Long Wharf-Charlestown ferry).
Following the opening, join us at our partner restaurant, The Anchor, for free appetizers from 7:00-8:00 PM.
Come for the art, stay for the community!
