Ekua Holmes is no stranger to Now + There. Part of the first Public Art Accelerator, Ekua is now sharing the experience she’s learned through her four years running Roxbury Sunflower Project — and the spotlight — with London Parker-McWhorter.
The pair is the second group of artists featured on the side of Breezes Laundromat, 345 Blue Hill Ave, Grove Hall as part of Mentoring Murals, a year-long printed mural program pairing two artists in a mentoring relationship. New this iteration, two additional mural sites will be unveiled!
Join us for a celebration of Holmes and Parker-McWhorter's collaborative mural, a mix of vibrant illustrations and poignant photography on Wednesday, September 8, 4-6 pm. The artists will share their inspirations and answer questions about the process. Stay for music, family-friendly activities, and free food provided by Fresh Food Generation!
This event is FREE and open to all, we ask that you register so we can prepare. Masks are highly encouraged for all attendees.
Rain Date: Thursday, September 9, registered attendees will receive an update via email.
This second iteration of Mentoring Murals is proudly presented in partnership with Greater Grove Hall and with support from Kennsington Investment Company and a Public Art for Spacial Justice grant from NEFA.
