Investment advisor and conceptual artist Geoff Hargadon to chair N+T Board of Directors
Now + There is pleased to announce the appointment of Geoff Hargadon as chair of the Board of Directors. In this position, Hargadon will lead the organization into its third year guided by a collaboratively created strategic plan. He brings to the organization a unique combination of conceptual artistic vision and financial expertise.
A graduate of Harvard, Hargadon is Senior VP at UBS Private Wealth where he has advised families on financial matters for 40 years. He is one of the leading proponents of sustainable and socially responsible investing at UBS. As a strong supporter of the arts, he advises the investment committees for both the Rose Kennedy Greenway and New England Foundation for the Arts.
Hargadon has deep connections to the art world, including his role as chair of the MIT List Visual Arts Center Advisory Council, his photographic coverage of the North American street art scene*, and as a practicing conceptual artist represented by Boston’s Gallery Kayafas. His ongoing Cash For Your Warhol series, with tongue-in-cheek signs critiquing art as a commodity, was a response to the 2008 financial collapse and has attracted over 3,000 callers.
Hargadon, is a Somerville resident and a natural connector who works tirelessly with curators and artists to broker exciting artworks from both emerging and established artists for Boston and beyond.
Hargadon replaces Nick Capasso, Director of the Fitchburg Art Museum, who as Chair of Now + There’s Board from 2014 2016 oversaw the transition of the organization from Urban Arts. Capasso will continue to serve the organization as a member of the Advisory Board.
