Now + There relies on private contributions to create impactful public installations. The work of fostering artists and the public to co-create bold public art experiences that open minds, conversations, and spaces across Boston, is fueled by generous individuals, foundations, and corporations. This month we are celebrating two major donors who have made significant investments in N+T.
We are incredibly grateful to the Wagner Foundation and the commitment of Charlotte Wagner to help robust communities. Their multi-year unrestricted support of Now + There crafts a tomorrow where "where everyone is valued equally and has the ability to imagine, shape, pursue, and sustain the lives they wish to lead.”
N+T would like to extend deep appreciation to the Barr Foundation. Multi-year funding from Barr supports increasing artists’ skills and visibility via the Public Art Accelerator Program. Our focus on amplifying BIPOC artists leads to more co-creation of temporary public art within Greater Boston where affirming contemporary art beautifies neighborhoods and makes space for various cultures and traditions to be told and amplified.
This crucial funding from the Barr Foundation and the Wagner Foundation ensures that N+T staff are racially diverse, have competitive salaries, and are prepared for professional advancement. These investments will also be leveraged by N+T in the process of advocating and rallying for the Boston Public Art Triennial coming in 2025.
Through public art engagements that take place IRL and virtually, we are asking Bostonians, transplants, and visitors to envision and take action toward co-creating more inclusive, vibrant, and equitable cities - first, in Boston and, hopefully, with the flow of contemporary art, communication, and technology, beyond. We encourage public participation through their conversations, programming, and surveys. And, as these initiatives ebb and flow, we are thankful to see even more support flow from YOU.
From our Catalyst Circle to Leadership Circle to 24/7 Circle to the meaningful contributions of friends and neighbors, we are all helping to infuse Boston with more enjoyment.
