Public participation is at the heart of Now + There’s a promise to the city of Boston and its 23 neighborhoods. As part of our commitment to fostering a more vibrant city through bold public art, we strive to build culturally responsive relationships through our partnerships and participatory programs. This year at Lot Lab is no different; we are connecting with the community of Charlestown and beyond through dynamic programming of performance, spoken word, theater, workshops, and much more.
Not to be missed during our Opening Celebration are the sounds of Oyade the DJ and a spoken word performance, presented in collaboration with Sean Webster. We’ll see you at Lot Lab on Wednesday, June 7! RSVP here.
With a fantastic programming lineup, we welcome A Trike Called Funk, Company One Theatre, Illuminus to Lot Lab, and many more program partners to be announced in the next few weeks.
Throughout the summer and into the fall, Illuminus presents its nighttime immersive light installation touching upon the themes presented in the three large-scale works by Ghada Amer, Sam Fields, and Massiel Grullon.
After a successful performance in 2022, on the occasion of Summer Sets, A Trike Called Funk returns to the Now + There stage on Saturday, August 26, for an afternoon of movement and sounds to end the summer on a high note.
Company One Theatre presents part of their production of The Boy Who Kissed The Sky, drawn from the early life of rock icon Jimi Hendrix, for an evening of family fun through imaginative storytelling on Wednesday, August 2.
Tour the exhibition and learn insights with Curatorial Assistant Jasper Sanchez throughout the exhibition. The first tour takes place in English on Wednesday, July 5, with a second tour in Spanish on Wednesday, August 28. Sign up for our newsletter to learn more about our public art projects.
